Now I haven't had the socks in the washing machine yet. But they are great in my Ryom garden boots, don't slip down or anything else annoying. My feet were warm but not too hot. I hope that the socks will sit a little closer to the foot after they have been washed, because they are a little loose. I'm happy with my purchase no matter what.
