What is the difference between men’s outdoor and hiking pants?

Choose pants and the features you need based on what you will use them for and how you want them to fit. For extra flexibility and mobility, strategically placed stretch panels make it easy for you to move and be active. If you often get warm while hiking, ventilation zippers at the side of the pants encourage airflow and help cool you down.

What pants should you use for hiking?

It can be hard to choose men’s hiking pants as there are so many to choose from. There are many smart and functional features available to support you during your hike. To protect your knees during tougher hikes and climbs, pants fitted with pockets for knee pads is a good choice. Boot hooks are also an awesome feature to hold the leg opening to your boots thus preventing the pants from going up. If you often get warm during a hike we recommend pants with ventilation zippers at the side of the pants allowing for better airflow. All our hiking pants are made from durable materials, and some are equipped with Hypershell® Reinforced™ which is a water repellent material that keeps you dry during light rain. If you want to protect your pants a little extra, we recommend that you treat them with fluorocarbon free waterproofing spray or RevolutionRace Heat Wax. Can you wear outdoor pants when it is cold outside?

Outdoor pants are great to use in many temperatures, but it depends on how warm you are and how easily you freeze. We recommend that you dress according to the layering principle with a base layer underneath the pants. For really cold days, we have lined winter pants that help you keep warm more efficiently.

When can you wear outdoor pants?

Outdoor pants for men have a wide range of uses, you can wear them for most outdoor activities such as fishing, hiking, mushroom picking, kayaking or mountain biking.
